Develop a domain-specific theory of land use changes in urban areas in Brazil and Germany

The focus of this Master thesis is to investigate the evolution of cities in Brazil and Germany. The student will use different methods like statistical analysis of spatial temporal patterns or interviews with domain experts. Description rules (i.e. rules to classify regions into different types) and evolution rules (i.e. rules to describe changes of the different types) have to be defined. The outcome of this work is a domain-specific theory of land use changes in urban areas in Brazil and Germany.

The definition of rules should be done in the country where domain experts are located, which makes this thesis a possible mobility measure for students from both Brazil and Germany.
