Develop a domain-specific theory of spatial changes in Europe

The topic of this Master thesis is to develop a domain-specific theory of spatial changes in Europe. In history diverse reasons led to splitting or merging of different countries. This work concentrates on the spatial evolution of European countries and has to be done in close collaboration with historians. The student will analyze the spatial changes and thus be able to define description rules (i.e. rules to classify regions into different types) and evolution rules (i.e. rules to describe changes of the different types). The outcome of this work is a domain-specific theory of spatial changes in Europe.

At least a major part of this work has to be done in Europe, which makes this master thesis a possible mobility measure for students from Brazil, who are interested in coming to Germany to study at IFGI.
